Petie-My Beloved Dog
Petie was a good dog. I couldn't have asked for a better companion. The way he was always willing to run and play-even in his old age, the way he always seemed to know that I was sad and/or mad about something, and being extremely loyal to me. For eleven and a half years, I enjoyed his companionship and loyalty. However, he became sick in late February this year, and refused to eat anything except a piece of chicken and a few drinks of water every few days. He didn't get up often, and became very thin. Finally, my mom asked me what I wanted to do, as he was my dog. It was very hard for me to see him suffering everyday, so I then made the hardest decision I have ever made in my life so far. On Friday, March 9, 2012, Petie was humanely euthanized. My Mom, Dad, and I were very devastated, and we cried for a long time. However, I know that now he is in a better place, where he is no longer sick or suffering, and will never be in pain again. I know it might seem kind of dorky, but I wrote a poem about his death. It's written below:
The Greeting
Petie, my little red dog,
quickly ran to greet his all-powerful master on Friday.
He then sat quietly at his master's side,
to give him company for all eternity.
